PERSONAL NOTES

The Canon Demi uses regular 35mm, but makes images half the size, 18x24mm, instead of 24x36mm.

The finder is small but ok to quickly frame your subject. Like other half frame cameras, the finder is a vertical rectangle instead of beign horizontal. This is something I like about half frame cameras, you're more prone to do portraits with them just because of that.

Exposure is manual, but there is help from a meter, if it still works. You set the aperture, then you set the speed. Shutter speeds are not that accurate, there are no defined clicks, you set it approximately between 1/30 and 1/250.

The focus is manual, it's a zone focus system, so you turn the focus ring close to the pictogram that is the most appropriated for your subject, that's it.

CONCLUSION

If you find one in good condition that still works, the Canon Demi is a great half frame camera. Personally, I still would go for an Olympus Pen instead.

Playing with a half frame is a good composition exercice, having a vertical viewfinder is refreshing.
