PERSONAL NOTES

In a nutshell, the Fujipet feels much like a Holga, but looks much better.

It was designed by Nishimura Masaki of Konan, a Japanese company that developed various camera projects which were taken over by other manufacturers, and by Tanaka Yoshio, a professor at the Tokyo University of Arts.

Like many other camera ideas developed by Konan, the Fujipet was taken by another manufacturer, this time Fuji, which commercialized it in Japan only.

The design looks straight from the fifties, a very cute camera that was popular among women and childrens.

In real life, this camera has only one speed, and bulb, and is equipped with a meniscus lens. If you compare this to a Hasselblad, it's no match, but if you like Holga for what they are and for the "lomographic" results it gives, then the Fujipet is quite on par.

I'm a big Holga user, and I have to say that the Fujipet is a bit better, it has a bit better finder, it's made out of aluminium instead of plastic, but feels the same super light weight.

The Fujipet is more expensive, but is way cuter.

CONCLUSION

If you want good quality photos, look elsewhere. If you want "lomographic results", then the Fujipet delivers. If you have small budget, get a Holga while they last. If you can afford a Fujipet or if you attach more importance on the look, then sure, get a Fujipet, results are excellent and they are so cute !
