The GoPro Hero 3 Silver edition is a nice action camera, very small, with tons of accessories. There are better cameras out there, you get what you pay for.

PERSONAL NOTES

I bought this camera in 2012 and I used it less than a dozen times, because I always had better image quality with other cameras. The GoPro has a small sensor, so the low light videos are really crappy, and even during the day, the sensor lacks latitude, so its very easy to have washed out whites everywhere. But, when you need to have a camera attached on someone or on moving equipment (sidecar, surfboard, guitar...), there is barely no other way to go.

CONCLUSION

The GoPro is very good if you need to do action videos. For image quality, forget it.
