PERSONAL NOTES

The Kodak Vest Pocket is still a nice camera today. Mine is over 100 years old and still works flawlessly. I like to shoot some 127 film from time to time, purely for the fun given by the cameras that comes with it.

The modern flagship cameras like the Nikon D5 have a special feature, you can record a voice note by pressing a button. But that idea is far from being new. The Vest Pocket Autographic version had a small metal pen and a small window on the back so you could take some notes on the paper backing of the film. How cool is that!

Image quality is not the best, but it sure is better than any box camera I know.

Using a so old camera is a very nice experience. You just have to slow down, take your time to take a picture. In some ways, I feel more connected to my ancestors by doing something they did many years ago. I can feel what they were doing and only for this, it's a worthwhile experience.

CONCLUSION

I would recommend any photographer to play with very old cameras like the Kodak Vest Pocket Autographic. Shooting with it is a good way to connect with the past, and appreciate what we have today.
