PERSONAL NOTES

The Nikon F2 is the cheapest Nikon professionnal line camera, for many reasons. First, the Nikon F3 HP is much better, in a smaller and cuter package. Second, the F4 and F5 are even better and not that expensive. And third, when people want a classic Nikon, they go for the first one, the Nikon F. So the F2 is in between, and available for cheap.

The Nikon F2 is a nice reliable machine, but has no big features available. The meter is in the prism, and not all prism are still working. When buying a F2, you get a heavy manual camera, with a meter in the prism, period.

CONCLUSION

If you are a Nikon camera collector, you need one. But as a user camera, go for the more classic Nikon F, or much better with a F3, F4 or F5.
